DSPIAE — ETC-02 Solvent-Based Jelly Cement

Part of DSPIAE’s ETC cement line, a solvent-type plastic cement built for styrene model kits. Rather than “gluing” the way CA does, it softens and welds the plastic surfaces themselves together, giving stronger bonds and cleaner seams than adhesive-based alternatives when used correctly.

Where the ETC-01 is built for speed, the ETC-02 takes the opposite approach: a slower-setting, jelly-thick formula that stays put where you apply it instead of wicking or running. That low-flow consistency makes it much easier to control on larger mating surfaces or when bonding small parts by hand, giving you extra time to check alignment and positioning before the bond sets. It’s especially useful in situations where a thin cement would seep out and mar the surrounding surface, or where you need the cement to hold its shape while you work.

Tool details:

• Capacity: 40ml
• Application: dry-fit parts first, then apply directly to the bonding surface and position by hand
• Best for: large surface bonding, point-to-point joins on small parts, situations needing more working time
• Not recommended for elastomer parts (e.g. poly-cap or track-style pieces) — can cause brittleness

The natural complement to the ETC-01 quick-drying cement — together they cover both ends of the assembly workflow, from fast seam welding to controlled, precise placement on larger or trickier joins.
